Shore Leave 36

“…a place where people could go to see and do all sorts of fascinating things.” — Spock

One of the longest running fan run science fiction conventions, Shore Leave is quickly approaching. Returning to the Hunt Valley Inn by Windham in Baltimore, Maryland, Shore Leave 36 runs from August 1 to 3, and is sure to be an unparalleled sci-fi extravaganza which should not be missed.

Once again, the guest list boasts an impressive array of stars featuring headliners and creators from numerous popular science fiction franchises. This year, Shore Leave is proud to present television icon Richard Dean Anderson (MacGuyver, Stargate) on both Saturday and Sunday; Teryl Rothery from Stargate SG-1 and Caprica; Eve Miles from Doctor Who and Torchwood; Silas Weir Mitchell of Grimm and 24; Michael Welch (Star Trek: Insurrection and the Twilight films); China Beach and Star Trek: Voyager‘s Robert Picardo; and a special Skype appearance by Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy on Sunday.

Also appearing at Shore Leave 36, over 60 authors will conduct workshops and meet-and-greets; 15 science guests will present panel discussions, and much more.

In addition to the great guests, there will also be charitable events including a Red Cross blood drive and a Texas Hold-em Poker Tournament benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Recently we sat down with Mike Schilling, Publicity and Media Relations for Shore Leave, to discuss the history and evolution of the convention as well as the great line up of guests and programming for this year’s Shore Leave 36. Tune in this Monday, June 23 at 9pm ET (6pm PT) as we debut the broadcast of this fun and informative interview.
