About Us

The radio station was launched in June 2010 by our founder Zach Nicodemous. In the first five months, we evolved and changed our format from concentrating solely on Star Trek gaming to a wider focus encompassing all of Star Trek fandom, science fiction and genre media.

During this transition period, the radio station reached out to CBS Studios for guidance. In November 2010, the station adopted a new look and name re-launching itself as Trek Radio. The radio station featured a wide variety of podcasts, radio dramas, live DJ programming, and the latest in entertainment news. Broadcasting twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, Trek Radio is the internet’s first radio station dedicated to Star Trek and the sci-fi community. Our community relationships continued to expand in January 2011 when we announced a partnership with several other prominent websites and organizations; The Federation (trekfederation.com) and Roddenberry Productions (roddenberry.com).

The station regularly hosts live interviews with a range of Star Trek and Sci-Fi celebrities; providing coverage of conventions and events from around the world. In past years, our staff broadcast on location from as far as FedCon in Germany, to the Sci-Fi Summer at Kennedy Space Center, and all the way back to Comic-Con International in San Diego, California. Our Ectopalooza event aired the first internet concerts of Warp 11 and Sci-Fried concerts live from Sacramento and Orlando on consecutive days. In addition, Trek Radio and Massively.com co-hosted the Discussion with the Developers panel for Cryptic Studios at Creation Entertainments’s Official Star Trek Convention (2012) in Las Vegas.

Each week, our team of DJs along with our partners, broadcast live to over 115 countries. Likewise, we connect our listeners with some of the best in Star Trek Audio Fiction. ST: Outpost, Section 31, and ST: Defiant, ST: Excelsior, ST: The Continuing Mission, ST: Pioneer and ST: Lost Frontier are in current rotation on our station schedule. We also syndicate various Star Trek Podcasts such as All Things Trek, Delta Quadrant, Gamma Quadrant, the G&T Show, Podcast UGC, Priority One, Red Shirt Army, Slacker and the Man, Stolen Droids, STOked Radio, Trek Mate, Treks in Sci-Fi, Trek News & Views, and Tribbles in Ecstasy bringing further quality talk-show style content onto the Trek Radio Network.
