Should old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet
For auld lang syne, for auld lang syne
Yeah, I don’t know what all of that means, but I kinda like the part about kindness. 2011 has been kind to us. In fact, it has been a banner year for Trek Radio. We celebrated the first of what will be many anniversaries. We traveled the globe, from Dusseldorf to Las Vegas, to bring you the best, hands-on coverage of all the latest and greatest Star Trek and Sci-Fi inspired events.
We have brought the Legends to your doorstep. We were honored this year to speak with the likes of Scott Bakula, George Takei, Walter Koenig, Doug Drexler, Larry Nemecek, David Mack, Rick Sternbach, Rod Roddenberry, Richard Hatch, Dan Stahl,… (read more...)
“And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” - Dr. Seuss
As the Holiday Season is upon us, we find ourselves reflecting on the past year and on those who have helped to shape our station in a most significant way. Whether our staff, our listeners, donators, or friends – we value our relationship with you and look forward to working with you in the year to come. We wish you a very happy Holiday Season and New Year.
May you truly live long and prosper in 2012.

Yes!!! Daniel Stahl, ex-Executive Producer at Cryptic Studios has posted on the Celebrate Season 5 topic on the STO forums saying “Congrats to the STO Team for all their hard work to get Season 5 live!” But the question, why is he posting as a DEV? Is Dstahl back?
The short answer is….. Yes, our beloved Danny boy is back!
Daniel’s tenure at Cryptic Studios ended in September of this year. He was recruited by Zynga Game Network as Executive Producer involved in the pre-production of a yet to be announced Zynga titles. According to LinkedIn.com, that all ended in December. But that’s not all…confirmation was made on his personal Facebook page when a friend noticed a status change to his job title. The following comment was posted by Stahl on his wall in response:
“I missed the Cryptic Family. Excited to be back working on MMOs. You should come back too!
”
Interestingly, his Facebook page lists his position as Sr. Producer. So what does this mean? Just moment ago, he… (read more...)

Today in addition to being thankful for our friends and family, Trek fans can also give thanks for some recent good news in the world of Star Trek. We finally have movement on the next Star Trek film, which goes into production in two months and has an actual release date: May 17, 2013. We also have recently learned that Star Trek: The Next Generation is going to be released in HD on Blu-ray, starting with a sample pack in early 2012. And of course there are new Trek books, new Trek comics and lots of Trek stuff to keep us occupied. At 45 years old, the Trek franchise is still giving us more.
The future history of Star Trek introduced us to many new holidays, like the Federation’s First Contact Day, the Klingon Day of Honor and the Bajoran Gratitude Festival. Although Thanksgiving is an American holiday, the spirit of giving thanks in appreciation for what we are blessed with is one that fits well with Star Trek. Star Trek has always celebrated different cultures coming together and… (read more...)
