History

Trek Radio is owned and operated by Zach Nicodemous, Executive Producer of Hailing Frequency. In June 2010, Zach announced the newest venture Star Trek Online Radio (sto-radio.com); an internet radio station dedicated to Star Trek which would broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This venture later became known as Trek Radio (trekradio.net) on January 1, 2011 when a partnership was announced with The Federation (trekfederation.com) and Alpha Waves Radio (airlockalpha.com).

The vision for Trek Radio is simple – capture the heart and spirit of Star Trek, report the latest Star Trek news and happenings, conduct engaging interviews with Star Trek celebrities and alumni and in addition, increase immersiveness for gamers playing Star Trek Games such as Star Trek Online and Star Trek Infinite Space. As such, our schedule not only features popular music, but also has regular features from you, the listener and regular reports about what is happening in the world of Star Trek and the MMORPG Star Trek Online with Road Reports, Mission Reports and more.

In addition, Trek Radio plans to regularly attend Star Trek conventions from around the world to bring you exciting news and information from the scene itself. Recent events include Fedcon (Germany), Spock Days (Canada), San Diego Comic Con (US/California), Kennedy Space Center’s Sci-Fi Summer (US/Florida), and Creation Entertainment’s Official Star Trek Convention (US/New Jersey & Las Vegas).

Finally, we syndicate various Star Trek podcasts such as Red Shirt Army, STO:Ked, Podcast UGC, Priority One, Gamma Quadrant, Treks in Sci-Fi, and Sci-Fi Overdrive bringing further quality talk-show style content onto the Trek Radio network. Likewise, we syndicate many Star Trek audio fictions. ST Outpost, Section 31, and ST Defiant , ST Excelsior, ST The Continuing Mission, ST Pioneer, and ST Lost Frontier are in current rotation on our station schedule. Each week, our team of DJs along with our partners, broadcast live to the world of Star Trek Gaming with a variety of popular music and the latest entertainment news.
